You already know that you can check out a bike with your B-card or by using your credit card/phone number at the kiosk. But did you know that you can also use the BCycle App to get riding? The BCycle App is available on both iPhone and Android and can make your Heartland B-cycle check out process easier than ever!
Just search for the BCycle App, the logo is a white B with a blue background. If you have an existing membership, just sign in with your credentials. If you don’t have a membership, don’t worry, you can buy one right on the app! Once you give the app access to your location it will confirm that you are in the Heartland B-cycle system. From there, log in or buy your membership by clicking the three horizontal lines on the upper left hand side of the screen.
Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to check for your closest B-cycle station, look at bike availability, and check out bikes! Never again will you wonder if a station is down or if there will be bikes where you want them, the BCycle App gives you live updates on all stations.
To check out a bike, just click on the station that you’re at and click “check out a bike”. Enter the dock number for the bike you want to ride and the BCycle App will release the bike for you. When you dock your bike, the app will confirm that the bike fully docked in a matter of seconds (if you don’t receive such a notification, give the bike a big shove & wiggle the handlebars, sometimes it takes a little extra love). No need to use the kiosk if you forget your B-card ever again! Just pull out your phone, open the BCycle App, & get riding!
