How it Works

1. Purchase a membership on the BCycle app.

   1. Heartland Bike Share offers a 24H Pass as well as passes which can be paid for monthly or yearly.
   2. All membership levels can be purchased on your cellphone with the BCycle App (credit card required).
      

2. Choose a bike from any bike share station.

   If you have a B-card:

   1. Choose one of the locked bikes. Press the button above the left handlebar to check the battery level and to turn on pedal assist.
   2. Press the silver button on the bike’s dock.
   3. Touch your B-card to the square behind the silver button.
   4. The station will unlock the bike from the dock you chose. The dock holding the bike will beep until the bike is removed.
   5. You are able to check out one bike at a time.

   Using the BCycle App:

   1. Choose which bike you'd like to unlock and stand where you can clearly see the dock number. Press the button above the left handlebar to check the battery level and to turn on pedal assist.
   2. Open the BCycle App & select "Unlock". Verify that the app knows that you are at the right location.
   3. When prompted, click the dock number of the bike you wish to check out.
   4. The station will unlock the bike from the dock you chose. The dock holding the bike will beep until the bike is removed.
   5. You are able to check out one bike at a time.

   If you do not have a B-card, but are already a member:

   1. Choose one of the locked bikes. Press the button above the left handlebar to check the battery level and to turn on pedal assist.
   2. Tap the kiosk screen to wake it up.
   3. Follow the prompts on the touchscreen. When prompted, type in the phone number associated with your membership.
   4. When prompted, enter the dock number of the bike you wish to check out.
   5. The kiosk will unlock the bike from the dock you chose. The dock holding the bike will beep until the bike is removed.
   6. You are able to check out one bike at a time.

   If you have not yet purchased a membership:

   1. Download the the BCycle App on your phone.
   2. Follow the instructions on the touchscreen to purchase the selected membership.
   3. When prompted, enter the dock number of the bike you wish to check out.
   4. Follow steps above for checking out of the app.

3. Grab your bike and go.

   1. Adjust your seat, strap on your helmet, and go.
   2. Rides of less than one hour incur no additional fee.
   3. Additional fees apply for rides longer than one hour (see rates).

   How to Adjust Seat / Safe Riding​

4. Dock your bike at any Heartland Bike Share station.

   1. You must return your bike to any bike share station at the end of your trip by rolling it into an available dock.
   2. Wait for three rapid blinks of the green light and three quick beeps. That’s your signal that the bike has been securely returned.
